![]() That "to the best of his ability" part is the catch he's not above allying with villains if it's the only way to keep the Tojo Clan from collapsing, but he's not particularly pleased with himself and Kiryu at the very least acknowledges that he is still the best person to lead the organization even after the events of 4. Downplayed on both the " Big" and the " Good" parts, but for all his faults, Daigo is by far the highest-ranked gangster to consistently be on the side of the protagonists and he helps them out to the best of his ability. Then later, when Kurosawa tries to have Majima and Saejima executed with guns trained on them, Daigo arrives just in time having awoken from his coma to once again shoot Kurosawa's gun out of his hand and then gunning down all of his men. At first, when Kurosawa has a single bullet left and a badly injured Kiryu, Saejima, and Watase at his mercy, Daigo arrives and shoots his gun out of his hand only to get shot from behind by Kanai, allowing the bad guys to escape and continue their plans for eliminating the compeition. In the third game, when Kiryu and Mine are cornered by Richardson and Black Monday, Daigo recovers from his coma just in time to pull out a gun and take out everyone in the group.Battle in the Rain: It starts raining right before your boss fight against him in the beginning of Yakuza 2 and it persists until he's been defeated.Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: While he's a decent man by most standards, Daigo is ultimately a criminal kingpin and thus has far less reservations against killing, which helps to keep other characters' hands clean.Badass in Distress: He's held captive twice in the second game, is shot in the third and again in the fifth.Backup from Otherworld: His Poundmates summon in Like a Dragon has him rain gunfire down on the opponent alongside spectral versions of a few deceased patriarchs of the Tojo Clan, including his own father.Ascended Meme: One of the passwords that allow you to recruit him for Yakuza 6's Clan Creator is "kiryusavemepleaz".All Your Powers Combined: As a Poundmate in Like a Dragon, he attacks by summoning four of the Tojo Clan's major figures from the past (his father Sohei, Shimano, Kashiwagi and Kazama) to open fire on all targets. No wonder Mine has such Undying Loyalty towards Daigo. and learns firsthand when Daigo Takes the Bullet for Mine in the midst of a grim situation. Yoshitaka Mine joined the Tojo Clan partially to learn why this is so. Probably explains why Kiryu thinks he's such a good choice for leading the Tojo Clan. ![]()
![]() The Crosshairs is said to be "about the most powerful weapon the kind abstratus will allow", implying that it could be the ultimate or penultimate rifle.Įridan makes Jade alchemize Ahab's Crosshairs after she begins her game session, but she believes it to be a "legendary piece of shit" and discards it. The stock and trigger evoke the shape of a seahorse. "FFFFFF" is the hexidecimal code for the color White, and "WW" could imply "whale," as spoken by Eridan. In the same way that the Quills of Echidna are a reference to Jade's denizen, Ahab's Crosshairs perhaps reference Cetus, Rose's (speculated) denizen, who takes its name from the constellation "The Whale" (and when Eridan was first properly introduced, in which he killed a white whale with it). He then sent the code to Jade, so she could alchemize it and use it against Rose. A bigger version of it was found in a ghost ship on Alternia on a particularly hard Flarp campaign by Eridan Ampora along with Vriska Serket's Fluorite Octet. Instead of actually shooting harpoons, Ahab's Crosshairs fires a massive laser at its target, which is capable of doing an absolutely immense amount of damage, if not killing its target in a single hit. The bunny also wields the Royal Deringer, the Quills of Echidna, and the Warhammer Of Zillyhoo. It is named after Captain Ahab from Moby Dick, who died trying to harpoon the titular white whale. It is strapped to the back of the bunny contained within the green box from Jade. Roku connects to all major streaming services. Roku products are frequently discounted too. ★ Another Streaming Stick: The Streaming Stick 4K ($50) is a little cheaper, and its remote doesn't have hands-free voice control. You'll have to charge the remote, which I don't particularly love having to remember, but you do save money on replacing batteries. Remote lost in the couch cushions? Just ask Roku where it is to activate a beep. Say “Hey Roku, play Succession on Max” without lifting a finger (yep, Roku now supports Max!). The Paris Peace Conference of 1919–1920 imposed various settlements on the defeated powers, with the best-known of these being the Treaty of Versailles. Isolated, facing the German Revolution at home and a military on the verge of mutiny, Kaiser Wilhelm abdicated on 9 November, and the new German government signed the Armistice of 11 November 1918, bringing the conflict to a close. Towards the end of 1918, the Central Powers began to collapse Bulgaria signed an armistice on 29 September, followed by the Ottomans on 31 October, then Austria-Hungary on 3 November. In November, the Ottoman Empire, Germany, and Austria-Hungary formed the Central Powers, while in April 1915, Italy switched sides to join Britain, France, Russia, and Serbia in forming the Allies of World War I. Russia came to Serbia's defense following Austria-Hungary's declaration of war on the latter on 28 July, and by 4 August, the system of alliances drew in Germany, France, and Britain, along with their respective colonies. Austria-Hungary blamed Serbia, which led to the July Crisis, an unsuccessful attempt to avoid conflict through diplomacy. Tensions in the Balkans came to a head on 28 June 1914 following the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the Austro- Hungarian heir, by Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb. ![]() Millions of additional deaths resulted from genocides within the Ottoman Empire and the 1918 influenza pandemic, which was exacerbated by the movement of combatants during the war.īy 1914, the European great powers were divided into the Triple Entente of France, Russia, and Britain and the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. One of the deadliest conflicts in history, an estimated 9 million people were killed in combat, while over 5 million civilians died from military occupation, bombardment, hunger, and disease. Referred to by contemporaries as the "Great War", its belligerents included much of Europe, the Russian Empire, the United States, and the Ottoman Empire, with fighting also expanding into the Middle East, Africa, and parts of Asia. World War I or the First World War, often abbreviated as WWI or WW1, began on 28 July 1914 and ended on 11 November 1918. ![]() The reflection of the current social paradigm tells us we are largely determined by conditioning and conditions. They are often more projections than reflections, projecting the concerns and character weaknesses of people giving the input rather than accurately reflecting what we are. These visions are disjointed and out of proportion. “Why can’t you ever keep things in order?” If the only vision we have of ourselves comes from the social mirror-from the current social paradigm and from the opinions, perceptions, and paradigms of the people around us-our view of ourselves is like the reflection in the crazy mirror room at the carnival. ![]() But because of the unique human capacity of self-awareness, we can examine our paradigms to determine whether they are reality- or principle-based or if they are a function of conditioning and conditions. This significantly limits our personal potential and our ability to relate to others as well. Unaware, we will project our intentions on their behavior and call ourselves objective. In fact, until we take how we see ourselves (and how we see others) into account, we will be unable to understand how others see and feel about themselves and their world. It becomes our map of the basic nature of mankind. It affects not only our attitudes and behaviors, but also how we see other people. Self-awareness enables us to stand apart and examine even the way we “see” ourselves-our self-paradigm, the most fundamental paradigm of effectiveness. The very fact that we can think about these things separates us from them and from the animal world. This is also why we can make and break our habits. This is why we can evaluate and learn from others’ experiences as well as our own. This is the reason why man has dominion over all things in the world and why he can make significant advances from generation to generation. We call it “self-awareness” or the ability to think about our very thought process. Your ability to do what you just did is uniquely human. Is it quick and alert? Do you sense that you are torn between doing this mental exercise and evaluating the point to be made out of it? Now think for a minute about how your mind is working. Can you identify it? What are you feeling? How would you describe your present mental state? Can you look at yourself almost as though you were someone else? Try to project your consciousness upward into a corner of the room and see yourself, in your mind’s eye, reading. I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavor.ĪS YOU READ THIS BOOK, try to stand apart from yourself. ![]() Habit 1: Be Proactive PRINCIPLES OF PERSONAL VISION ![]() Covey reveals a step-by-step pathway for living with fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity-principles that give us the security to adapt to change and the wisdom and power to take advantage of the opportunities that change creates.
